Last year Grangefield did brilliantly (at least we think so!!) in the European Language Olympics - we were 24th out of just over 100 schools - and a number of our students achieved certificates so we were so proud of them. This year the competition is world wide and there are over 900 schools in the competition, so the pressure is on! Last year we entered all our language students, but this year, we have only entered 350 pupils, so we are counting on them! We have decided to enter all our year 8 language students, 9g1 , and our KS4 French and Spanish students, so we are relying on them to show how good Grangefield pupils are at languages. All the pupils should now know their log-in details - user names and passwords, so if you don't yet know - please see your language teacher. We will try to use as many of the language lessons as possible in computer rooms, but other than that we are relying on our wonderful pupils to log on at home. The CLC is available each evening after school for any interested pupils, as is the library, which could be useful too if pupils don't have access to the internet at home. To log onto the website please go onto www.languageperfect.com/worldchamps and then pupils need to type in their own user names and passwords. Remember - the competition for pupils in Great Britain starts at 9.30 am tomorrow morning - 9th September and runs for seven days.
At any time pupils can see where they are in the competition, in their class, in their school, country and world!!! So lots and lots of luck to our pupils in these World Language Championships!!!!
