At Grangefield School in Stockton 12-year-old girls Jamie-Ann Lloyd and Amber Riddle, both aged 12, achieved an A and A* respectively in GCSE French.

Both girls are fluent French speakers having lived in France for some time. Jamie-Ann said: “It was hard at the time but totally worth it.”

Head David Litchfield, said: “We are delighted with the success of Amber and Jamie-Ann and extremely proud of their achievements.

“They can now go on to study additional languages from a choice including Spanish, Mandarin and Urdu, and we have every confidence in their continued success across school in the future.”

Well done to all our pupils – 67% of our pupils achieved a Grade C or above in Spanish, French or Urdu, in this year’s exams.  As well as the fantastic success of Amber and Jamie-Ann our two amazing year 7’s above, congratulations to Katya Pyrozhek and Ellynicole Latife, for achieving an A* in Spanish, and Fatima Din who achieved an A grade in Urdu.       

FCSE exam dates - listening and reading tests for French and Spanish - YEAR 9

These will take place in the hall as follows:-

Tuesday 12th July - FRENCH - F band - lesson 2

Wednesday 13th July - FRENCH - G band - lesson 1

Thursday 14th July - SPANISH - F band - lesson 2

Thursday 14th July - SPANISH - G band - lesson 5

Pupils should go straight to the hall at these times.

Year 11 - speaking exam! GCSE French - Final controlled assessment.

This will take place in Mrs McHale's room next Wednesday - lessons 2 and 3.  I have uploaded some sound files in Fronter to help you.  Please look in Fronter under year 10 (still) and you'll find recordings of your work to help you.  Bonne chance!!!  Please see me on Friday if you have any concerns or need any more help.  Mrs Roe.

Year 9 - Due to circumstances beyond our control the FCSE exams didn't take place just before Easter, and so rescheduled tests will takes place as follows:

F Band -  Thursday 22nd April - lesson one in the Hall - Food and Drink - listening and reading exam

G Band -  Friday 23rd April -lesson 4 in the Hall

S Band -  Friday 23rd April - lesson 5 in the Hall
