Mrs Roe's weekly update - week ending 2nd December 2011

My goodness – we’re in December already and only two weeks to go before the end of term! Year 7’s going on the Pas-de-Calais should have now paid their second deposit, so if you haven’t already done so, please hand in to the office and let Mme Plouchart know, as soon as possible. The year 7’s especially have been attending the Spanish and French clubs – we had so many pupils last week, we didn’t advertise it this week, but still lots of wonderful pupils came to the clubs!!! Susanna showed a Spanish Christmas film, Una película de Navidad, and we had three tables full of pupils playing ‘le jeu de 7 familles’ (Happy Families) in French with Claire – very impressive! Final speaking and writing tests were being taken by our year 9’s. Please note that the Reading and Listening FCSE exams will take place next week. F band will take their exam lesson 3 on Monday 5th December, and G band will take their exam, also lesson 3 on Thursday 8th December. All pupils should go directly to the hall, and we will register you there. Year 11 pupils were taking their mock exams, and have been working very hard too. We have also been busy creating two year 8 Urdu classes for after Christmas, have collapsed the five French sets in either band into four sets, and all pupils affected will receive a new timetable after Christmas, when the Carousel of languages will also begin.
