Another hectic week which saw the year 9’s take their first listening and reading FCSE exams, and early indications that we are going to have some great results! Well done year 9’s!!! There will be a catch up session for pupils who have missed the listening and reading comprehensions next week, and year 9 pupils who have missed the speaking or writing exams should make sure they see their teacher to take these tests next week too. Year 11’s have continued to attend the after school sessions to help them with their listening and reading comprehension exams, and next week the pressure continues when they take another controlled assessment test. With regards the year 7 Pas de Calais trip, the second deposit should now have been paid, and please refer to your letter to see when the final payment is due. We are continuing to make headway with a proposed Key Stage 4 History/French trip which is proposed for Autumn 2012, so we will give the pupils more details on this after Christmas. Hopefully next week, some of the classes should be enjoying some Christmas activities and learning all about festivities in other countries. Mr Turnbull, who also takes one of our year 9 French sets, and the year 11 pupils are going to stage ‘The Wonderland Christmas Variety Show’ next Wednesday and Thursday evenings, so parents – please come along and get into the festive spirit by seeing our talented year 11’s – it promises to be a great show!! It’s a bargain at £3 a ticket!!!
