Mrs Roe's weekly update - week ending 25th November 2011

My goodness the weeks are flying by and soon it will be Christmas!!!  We and the pupils have been working flat out this week preparing for the next FCSE exam.  Year 9's were taking written and speaking tests this week, and they really did well - we were so proud of them!  Year 8's managed to do some great conversations asking directions in French, and we've uploaded some of their work already onto the blog via youtube!  Year 10's are getting their first taste of the coursework required for GCSE and year 11's are also working well, preparing for their mock exams from next week, and also their next piece of coursework.  Let's just hope that we have enough time to get through everything.  We have now received letters back from parents, and so will create two Urdu classes after Christmas, at the same time as our year 8 Carousel of languages starts, so it's all very exciting at the moment!  Miss Bell's successful Spanish class will be finishing soon, and I know those who attended have found it really interesting and worthwhile.  The Spanish and French lunchtime clubs continue to be well attended.  The second deposit is due for the year 7 Pas-de-Calais trip, so please hand this in to the office and let Mme Plouchart know too.  Plans for the Chinese trip is well underway for next year, and there are lots more international activities planned for the future, which will do wonders to broaden our pupils'horizons!
