Mrs Roe's weekly update - week ending 21st October

To the parents

Well, this half-term has flown by, ending with a training day, so our pupils were able to have an extra day holiday, while the teachers were hard at work! However, the pupils too have worked hard this term, and have made great progress in their language learning. Year 7 pupils have settled in well, and forty pupils so far have signed up for the Pas-de-Calais trip next June. There are a few places left, so please see Mme Plouchart if you are interested – you can see from the slide show in the MFL corridor how great it was last year! This week we had an interesting visit from some teachers from the UAE and 8f2 was the lucky class chosen to enjoy and Arabic taster session. The teachers kindly left their powerpoint and have allowed us to use it, so 8f2 pupils or any other interested pupils can download it to remind themselves of the language they learnt. Please see the link below. Many thanks to Mr Hussein and all UAE teachers and telling us all about their interesting country. After half term, Miss Bell and Mrs Roe will be running y11 revision sessions after school on a Thursday, and so all parents will be receiving a letter in the post about this.
