Week ending 22nd July 2011
We’ve spent the week frantically finishing off FCSE tests, so we’re now in the happy position of saying ‘well done’ to all our year 9’s. Having looked at the provisional results, most have either met or exceeded their targets, so we're really pleased with our students. Our year 10’s should be spending some time over the holidays preparing for course work, revising vocabulary and grammar in preparation for a successful year 11. We said goodbye to Angela this week, who has helped establish the Confucius classroom and the teaching of Mandarin in our school, and wish her all the best in her future career back in Beijing. We’re now looking forward to the new school year, and the various challenges which we know will be positive. As soon as we return, it will be the World Language Championships and before September is out, we’ll be celebrating the European Day of Languages. Various trips abroad are on the drawing board, so hopefully we can realise some if not all of them next year. So, all that remains for me to say is ‘Bonnes Vacances’ and see you all in the new term.
