Mrs Roe's weekly update

Time is running out this term but our pupils are still working hard.  The FCSE speaking and some writing tests have taken place this week, and the last listening and reading tests will take place week beginning 11th July.  I will put the exact dates on the blog after this entry.  Pupils who went on the Pas-de-Calais trip have been handing in their completed booklets and we hope to award certificates soon. Next week we will be asking our year 8's to fill in a questionnaire giving us their opinions on the language Carousel this year.  They will also be able to give their preference for their second language and we will try our best to give pupils their first choice, but because of class sizes and teacher availability, this may not be possible but pupils should get their first or second choice.  We are now busy, trying to organise events for next year, so watch this space! We have the Language Olympics coming up in September, the European Day of Languages also in September, we will develop the Carousel idea, hope to embed more languages into the curriculum, there may be some more trips, language projects  etc ............ exciting times!

Year 8 f/g - learn parts of the body, illness and the illness/advice vocabulary we covered today.  Use the sheet you have been give and go on linguascope - le corps et les douleurs

 Year 9 f/g - revise for last speaking and writing FCSE meeting people assessment.

 Year 9 f1 - Spanish - revise shopping for food vocabulary

 Year 10 - Translate the sentences into French on household tasks and time.
