To the parents
Well, the dust has settled after last week and the Pas de Calais, and it was a great trip – worth all the hard work – and thanks too, to the parents who thanked us – much appreciated, but I have to say that your children are a credit to you and the school. Pupils who participated in the trip had to hand in their work booklets to their group leader by today, but if they haven’t already done so, they should hand them in on Monday. We had a lot of positive feedback, and already this week, with year 8, we were at the ‘pharmacie’ and we had to find one in France, and in one of our Métro topics we saw a BD or comic which one of our observant year 7’s remembered she’d seen at the hotel. So, there were lots of benefits!! Some of our year 10’s took their first written controlled test this week, and we’re busy preparing our year 9’s for their final topic for the FCSE. Samples were sent off to moderators for this year’s FCSE entries, this week, so, now, we just have to wait for the results! We said goodbye to Miss Salkeld this week, and lots and lots of thanks from all of us for all her hard work with our pupils and lots of luck for the future.
Now, am just about to do the Pupil of the week – and then tomorrow, it’s off to the Lake District – Windermere and the Great North Swim, which I’m doing for the PCRF – just hope the water isn’t too cold! (it probably will be!) Bon weekend!
