Another week has flown by at Grangefield, we just don't know where the time goes!!! It's all very exciting on the International front. Our letters were well received in the school in Rusumo in Rwanda and the pupils are going to send our year 8's letters back next week. Also, some of Mme Plouchart's and Miss Bell's year 7 classes received letters from some year 7 pupils in France. Again with year 7's, Miss Bell's class have been practising for the Spelling Bee and the best four pupils will enter the Regional Spelling Bee competition - year 7's - please see the links below. Mme Plouchart is planning an international show in July which could be a show in it's own right or shown in Assemblies. She has put lots of songs which pupils can choose in Fronter under MFL Resources so - allez nos chanteurs!!!! A school in Zaragoza has approached us with a view to an exchange, which sounds very exciting. Pupils going on the year 7 trip to France should bring in their passport photos and dietary requirements by 20th February to Mme Plouchart, and the final deposit is due soon too. The year 9/10 Battlefield trip is still open to pupils, so please hand in your first deposits to the office as soon as possible. On Monday the school celebrated the Chinese New Year, and pupils across the school were making red envelopes, dragons, finding out about festivities in China as well as other festivities from other countries. The year 11 BTec students put on a fabulous Chinese shadow play and the year 8 musicians played some haunting Chinese music which was appreciated by all year groups throughout the morning. We also had year 11 parents evening in the middle of all these activities, so year 11's - keep up the good work and do yourselves, your parents and the school proud!
