¡Adios! Au revoir! ¡Que tengas suerte! Bonne chance! To our year 11's !!!

We had a lovely 'soirée' (or matinée!) with our year 11's today, and said our farewells and wished them lots of luck! Susanna, our brilliant Spanish assistant was here and will also soon be leaving us. Miss Bell brought in a pinata which was duly hit and released sweets (eventually!) Many thanks from Miss Bell and I for the lovely gifts - framed photos, flowers, vin blanc, cards, chocolat, baguette !!!!  We were overwhelmed!  You've been a great year group and the school will seem empty without you. We'll miss you !

Language Perfect update SITE BACK ON !!!! Wahooo!!!!!

Tuesday morning -  just heard from Craig in NZ - problem yesterday with UK receiving Language Perfect which they're looking into - but we're back in business!!!!!

There seems to be some problems getting on Language Perfect at the moment.  I've emailed the site, and heard from various teachers that their schools are also having problems so it's not you!   If I hear anything, I'll let  you know!

Well done Grangefield - despite the wonderful weather, after weeks of rain - we still have some pupils on the site flying the flag for Grangefield.  We're now 88th in the world.  Can we do better? Bonne chance tout le monde!

Mrs Roe's weekly update - week ending 25th May 2012

Well, how nice to finish the week in glorious sunshine! We've had a great week at Grangefield - our amazing year 11 Spanish students had their final exams in Spanish this week, and so only one more week to go before the year group leave us !  The school will seem strange without them!  The week was dominated however, with the LANGUAGE PERFECT CHAMPIONSHIPS 2012 !!!!!   We have tried to get lessons in computer rooms as much as possible, but being in the midst of the exam season, it hasn't been easy.  However, at least every pupil entered should get the chance to be in a computer room for at least one of their language lessons before the competition ends at 9.30 am next Thursday.  AND SO .................  we're relying on our wonderful pupils going on the competition site at home or after school in the CLC or library.  However, saying that, considering that it's Friday, and it has been boiling hot all day, the pupils were all looking tired, I've just checked on the site and six of our pupils are on as I write!!!   How amazing is that!!!!  At the moment Grangefield is 81st in the world, 2nd in French in England, 7th in Spanish in England, and 3rd overall in England - am....az......ing !!!!   Well done to all our pupils!    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could increase our position before the end of the weekend?    Our year 7's have been doing some great film work.  The 7f2 puppet video is below the update, and 7f1 has made a video of weather reports which Miss Bell will show them next week.  Mme Plouchart had a successful meeting for parents about the year 7 Pas-de-Calais trip this week - not long to go before the trip!  Pupils going on the WW1 Battlefields trip in October should return the collective passport forms as soon as possible.  Year 9's are busy with preparing speaking and written tests for their final FCSE module, and some of our pupils will be taking their speaking tests next week.

Language Perfect Championships 2012 - Wahooooo!!!!!!

                                         

Well done to our students - what with exams, other bookings etc, it's not been easy to get our pupils on the site in school time.  However, today, we managed to get a nunber of classes on and it was AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  As I write - we're 79th in the world !!!!!   We're very proud of that!!!!   And ..... Grangefield is first in French in England ................  Wahoo!!!!!!!!!!!   Our pupils are very inspired by the site, and this afternoon, our pupils were translating some amazing sentences, and are becoming so motivated to learning languages.  Keep up the good work Grangefield!!!!   Well done to all our motivated pupils!

Language Perfect update - Tuesday 22nd May 2012!! 9.37 am Get earning those points Grangefield - we are still 1st in England in our category!!!! (500-1000 pupils - we have 530 registered!)

There's a facebook thread running at the moment about LANGUAGE PERFECT - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Language-Perfect/153922731296356  which will keep you up to date and I'll also keep you informed at school via the blog and the notice board outside C8.

Well done to absolutely LOADS of pupils from Grangefield who were learning well into the night  last night and when I last looked we had four certificates!  There's an elite certificate now - so wouldn't it be great if one or more of you manage to earn this certificate!!!!!!
